Back in June of last year, when Apple announced plans for iOS 7, they promised big changes to make the management of their devices easier for education and business. Unfortunately, in September 2013, when iOS 7 was publicly released, not all of these new features were made available. IT staffs across the country were disappointed. Finally, in February 2014, Apple announced the Apple Deployment Program.
The Apple Deployment Program streamlines the enrollment process for those customers using a mobile device management (MDM) solution. Through the program, organizations can enroll their devices over the air, without the need to connect the devices to Apple Configurator. This series of posts over 5 days, beginning on Monday, April 21, will take you step by step through the Apple Deployment program. We’ll explore the process from enrollment in the program to discussing some of the shortcomings and benefits of the program. Be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss any of it. See you on Monday with the first post in the series: The Enrollment Process.
